Elizabeth Johnson (she/her/hers) began as a therapist intern with Oak City Psychology in January 2024 and is excited to have officially joined the practice as a staff therapist awaiting licensure.

As someone who has been a teacher for over 20 years, she is passionate about mental health support for teachers and understands the intricacies of life in the education world first-hand.  Elizabeth is also passionate about women’s issues, helping those with anxiety, depression, and self-image concerns, and hopes to create a safe environment for her clients where they are empowered to live their most authentic lives.  

Elizabeth earned her degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the College of William & Mary.  She also earned her Master’s in Elementary Education and Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Gardner-Webb University as well as her undergraduate degree in Child Development from Meredith College.

Elizabeth lives in her childhood hometown with her husband, two teenage sons, and two cats.  She enjoys spending time with family and friends, visiting Disney World and Universal Orlando, crafting, and learning about counseling-related topics.
